Bullying

Are you being bullied, harassed or victimised because of your sexuality? Are you receiving verbal abuse from your colleagues at work? Are you being treated unfairly by peers or tutors at college or university? Are you being threatened or attacked by people in your neighbourhood? Are you being ignored by your family? Bullying can be physical and it can be psychological, both can be very difficult to deal with, causing feelings of fear, stress, anxiety and isolation. Counselling can be a way to help you deal with those feelings and with the emotional consequences of bullying.

'Coming Out'

Are you are a gay man/woman living a heterosexual life? Are you in a relationship with someone of the opposite sex and experiencing confused feelings about your sexuality? Does the idea of coming out to your friends and family cause panic and worry? Is 'coming out' something you simply don't want to do? Do you want a safe space to talk about your thoughts and feelings? Dealing with 'coming out' or not 'coming out' can be a stressful experience and you may feel very alone with feelings such as shame, guilt, sadness and fear. Counselling is not about telling you what to do or what not to do. It's about working in a therapeutic way with what you bring to counselling, giving you time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings to help make positive changes that improve your lifestyle.

Relationships

Are you and your partner having problems? Is there a lack of trust in your relationship? Do you find that you are arguing more than usual? Are you in a relationship where one of you is 'out' and the other not 'out' and struggling to deal with the consequences this has on your relationship? Are you being abused physically or psychologically in your relationship? Relationships don't always turn out the way you think they will and this can sometimes cause stress, depression and low self esteem. Counselling can be a way to help look at your relationship in a different light and discuss your concerns with an outsider, who will give you the time you need to explore alternative ways of dealing with your relationship.

Transgender

Have you often felt confused about your gender? Does the idea of discussing your thoughts and feelings on this cause anxiety? Are you living your life as a transsexual and feeling victimised, depressed and alone? Counselling can be a way to help you move on in your life and make sense of any conflicting feelings you may have.

Ultimately, it is about working together to facilitate positive change!
